Marine took their chances coming out 2-1 winners over Hyde United to make it 5 games unbeaten. Goals from Danny Mitcheley and Sam Barnes earned them all 3 points.
The opening goal came from a rare defensive mix up between Crook and Smalley leading the ball to fall into the path of Mitcheley who made no mistake slotting in from 6 yards out.
Marine went in at half time fortunate to be ahead after chances from Pratt, Porritt and Chilaka all failed to find the net for the home side, plus a huge goalmouth scramble from a succession of corners.
It was only 10 minutes into the second half before Hyde levelled the game when good link up play on the left hand side between brownhill and poole found Chilaka who curled the ball round the marine defence and past Hilton in goal.
The game then became tense with both teams being forced into substitutions through injuries and a flurry of yellow cards halted the tempo.
The tigers arguably had the better chances but failed to take them throughout, leading to the visitors getting the winner. Hyde failed to clear their lines and were punished when Barnes stayed forward from the corner, lashing the ball into the bottom corner. Marine ran down the clock for the last 10 to seal the win.
