Scott Spencer thought he had won it for the team who are routed to the bottom of the Skrill Premier League with a 91st minute goal but straight from kick off Nuneaton’s sub, David Hibbert found the equaliser.
Nuneaton started the game off well and the first chance came after 2 minutes, Ladapo getting behind the defence but forcing a save out of Spurs loanee, Lawrence Vigouroux who pushed it away for a corner. The resulting corner forces another save from Vigouroux after Streete’s towering header.
A minute later and Hyde had their first attack of as Brizell’s shot was cleared off the line by Nuneaton’s Wes York , Louis Almond picked up the rebound but his shot was blazed over.
Nuneaton took the lead on 16 minutes as Bell was fouled on the edge of the box by Brizell. The ball was whipped in which was only partly cleared to Moult, who crossed, which forced a brilliant save out of Vigouroux but only into the path of Oli Ladapo and the on loan Colchester man had a simple tap in.
Hyde started to pressure the Nuneaton defence and found the equaliser in the 27th minute, a good advantage was played by referee Wayne Barrett and the ball ran to Reece Gray who played in Almond who then cut inside and thumped the ball into the top left hand corner giving James Belshaw no chance
Hyde continued to pressure for the remainder of the first half but the best chance fell to Nuneaton’s goal scorer, Ladapo, who’s header towards goal was cleared off the line by Griffin
HALF TIME: Hyde 1-1 Nuneaton.
Hyde started the second half as they finished the first, dominating in possession and keeping the Nuneaton defence on the back foot. The first chance came eight minutes into the second half as Griffin whipped in a ball from the left, the ball appeared to hit Bell’s arm but despite the appeals the ball fell to Gray who blasted it over the bar.
Hyde continued to knock on Nuneaton’s door with chances falling left, right and centre for the Tigers, firstly Tomsett played through Spencer who cut back inside but sliced his shot wide, Griffin went close a minute later with a 25 yard rocket which forced a great save from the Nuneaton keeper, Belshaw.
With 20 minutes to go Hyde were unlucky not to go 2-1 up as Almond got behind the Nuneaton defence, but his shot trickled across the line, with Gray somehow not getting a chance before going out for a goal kick.
Nuneaton started to get back into the game but without really testing Vigouroux but they were being caught out on the counter as Brizell found Spencer who’s heavily deflected shot looked to be dipping in but Belshaw brilliantly tipped it over the bar.
Hyde final took the lead in the first minute of stoppage time as Almond found Spencer who turned the Nuneaton centre back and unleashed a shot into the roof of the net, the whole of Ewen fields erupted as it looked like Hyde have done enough to gain there first win of the season!
That wasn’t the end of the drama though as Nuneaton dramatically equalised a minute later, a ball was pumped over the Tigers defence who fell asleep and Sub David Hibbert had time to chest the ball down and smash in the equaliser as Nuneaton gained a undeserved equaliser, leaving most of the Hyde team on the floor, gutted.
